Friday November the 9th marks the opening game of the Brighton Tsunami fixture schedule. It will be the first night game ever played by the Tsunami, and they hope that home field advantage will give them a good start to the 07/08 season. The team play the Portsmouth Destroyers, and will want to repeat their victory in the last game of last year.

It is a great occasion for the team as the roll back into Brighton. The team have been playing their home games in Crawley, so their return home should prove a bonus to the entire programme.

Pre-season has been great for the team, training twice a week on the state of the art 3G synthetic turf pitch at Falmer. A great influx of rookies this year has seen the team strengthen in key areas, with great athletes at receiver, running back and offensive line positions. Returning players Nathan Luther, Ant Morrison and Joe Clark have all come back stronger and better for the defence.

Tsunami President, Alex Maxwell said of the upcoming match, “This night game is such an exciting event for the club and the university. It is a great opportunity to raise our profile further within the university, as well as with the local community. Hopefully some intrigued and interested people will come up to watch what promises to be an electrifying spectacle”

In the States, the hugely popular National High School Football League is played each Friday night at Stadia across America. For most people, this will be their first chance of experiencing the thrill as they do in the US.

The match kicks off at 6.30pm, and hope that it will be supported well by the University's community as well as sports fans from all over Brighton. To add to the atmosphere, there will be PA's, giveaways, and, of course, the Wavette Cheerleaders will be performing at half time.
