On May 3rd the Lancaster Bombers will take on the Durham Saints in a showpiece exhibition game at the 44th Roses Event.
Roses is the biggest inter-varsity Sporting Event in the UK, played between the
Red Rose University of Lancaster and the White Rose York University. With 45
sports taking part from Archery and Ballroom Dancing through to Rugby Union and Rowing over 100 events will be played between the 2nd,3rd and 4th May with the winning university overall receiving the Carter James Trophy. At present the Scores are tied 21 wins a piece with 1 draw in 1974.
This season's match-up with Durham will be supported by a non-contact game between the Bombers and the York Centurians which will whet the appetite for a full Roses encounter in 2009 when it is hoped the emerging Centurians will have secured BUAFL Full Member status.
