BUAFL Statistics

The BUAFL Competition Rules and Regulations as released in August 2007
include a requirement for each team to provide statistics for each
official league game by the Friday following the game.

However, the BUAFL realises that not all clubs have compiled
comprehensive statistics in the past and indeed may have no experience
of doing so.  It is not the intention of the BUAFL to overburden its
clubs with additional tasks at a time when the competition at university
level is undergoing a period of profound change.  Therefore, while the
Official Game Statistics Sheet contains fields for all information the
league anticipates it will require in the future, those fields that will
be mandatory during this, the first season of the BUAFL are marked with
an asterisk.

Once all clubs have become accustomed to compiling statistics, at the
end of the season a review of the process will be undertaken with a view
to increasing the level of mandatory information for next season.

In order for the game statistics to be compiled, statisticians will need
to fill in a running play-by-play analysis as the game unfolds.  The
BUAFL recognises that some clubs already have statisticians who carry
out this task and does not wish to impose a uniform process on all
clubs.  However, a play-by-play analysis sheet along with instructions
is also made available for download to assist those new to the task in
compiling the required statistics.  Play-by-play analyses should not be
submitted to the league - only the Official Game Statistics Sheet is to
be submitted to the BUAFL - so clubs and statisticians are free to
employ whatever means they see fit in arriving at the reported statistics.

All teams are reminded that match reports must be submitted by 12:00
midday the day after a league game and statistics must be submitted by
12:00 on the Friday following the game.  Both forms should be submitted
by email to office@buafl.net

Final scores should also be phoned / texted in to 07971 497792 by 8:00pm on the day of the game or, in the case of an evening kickoff by 12:00 midday on
the day following the game.
