The BUAFL today announced a further two categories of membership:

  • BUAFL Associate Members
  • BUAFL Foundation Members

Full documentation for these categories will be published shortly. However, a top line overview of the programmes follows:

BUAFL Associate Members

The BUAFL Associate Membership programme is the tier of membership down from the BUAFL Full Membership programme which entitles teams to participate in a full league season. Associate Member teams will be expected to participate in a minimum number of games, including at least one staged at home to demonstrate their ability to commit to a full fixture schedule the following season.

The costs for Associate Membership are as follows:

Team

£150 League Registration fee (includes 3 Wilson official game balls)

Players

Through the CRS new players will be expected to pay £20 which includes BAFA accredited insurance and a half price BAFA fee. Those individuals who have already been active on the CRS will pay a full BAFA fee so their costs will be £30 inclusive of insurance.

BUAFL Foundation Members

The Foundation Membership programme is aimed at those institutions that are planning on having an Associate Status team within the next 12 months. They will receive a tailored package of support including workshops and mentoring to enable them to strategically plan; recruit and retain players, coaches and administrators, and develop their relationship with their university and student's union.

These teams will not take part in fixtures therefore there is no player cost incurred. Their payment is limited to a £50 BUAFL fee.

The Foundation Member's form will be published shortly.
