The British American Football Association offers students a number of programmes for national and international representation. Not all programmes operate each season.
At present students are eligible to represent the full Great Britain team in either contact football (11-on-11) and / or Flag football. They are also eligible to represent their Home Nations in either contact football (11-on-11) and / or Flag football.
BAFA and the BUAFL are currently establishing a comprehensive representative structure for university programmes.
Contact football:
Planning for a Home Nations contact football (11-on-11) championships is well underway for the 2009/10 season. The eligibility criteria for this are still being refined.
BAFA is currently working with the European Governing Body (EFAF) on the creation of a European Championships. At present this is anticipated for launch during or after the 2010/11 season and will feature each Home Nation rather than a Team GB.
Flag football:
Planning for a Home Nations Flag football championships for both men and women is underway for the 20010/11 season. The eligibility criteria for this are still being refined.
BAFA is currently reviewing the potential for a European competition with EFAF.
