Season Finale Announced

The British Universities American Football League is delighted to confirm that most prestigious games in student football, the Championship Game and Challenge Trophy Game, will be returning to the John Charles Stadium in Leeds.

The venue is named after John Charles (1931-2004), the famous Leeds United, Juventus and Wales centre forward. The stadium played host to both the 2009 National Championship Game and the 2009 Challenge Trophy Game will stage both games on the same day, repeating the successful format from this year's event at the Sixfields Stadium in Northampton.

BAFA Director for Student Football Development Andy Fuller made the announcement on Kick Off weekend following the Birmingham Lions' successful opening to a campaign where they will be seeking to make it a hat trick of titles at the venue where they secured their first BUAFL Championship.

The League is delighted to take the showpiece games back to Leeds. The John Charles Stadium provides a great venue for our teams and spectators alike. Having been there in 2009 for the Championship Game and the inaugural Challenge Trophy Game we are starting to build a unique history there which is important.

Fuller continued This season will see the games take place on a Saturday and we will look forward to welcoming the football community to the stadium where we have no doubt that they will be treated to some fabulous football and great Yorkshire hospitality.
